EPYKS 0.5.3 WINDOWS EARLY BETA | 04 OCTOBER 2026

New: automatic renewal while unlocked, without caching passwords. Access and
renewal credentials rotate together and exist only in process memory. The
relay stores a hash of the renewal secret only in RAM. Old credentials cannot
be reused; renewal preserves rate limits and cannot extend the eight-hour
absolute session limit. Inactivity locking remains independent of renewal.
An uncertain renewal response locks the client rather than replaying it.
Native worker 0.5.1 and the encrypted vault schema are unchanged.

Includes the hosted relay connection, unique tagged handles, multiple local
accounts, encrypted local chats and offline sender outbox, contact requests,
local search, account recovery and friend re-add, inactivity locking, fullscreen,
local wipe controls, and the donation link.

Verification: earlier complete runs passed 47 Node/desktop tests, 21 active
native tests, and the 14-check reliability launcher. The 0.5.2 hosted update
passed nine targeted checks. The user verified the two hosted client checklist
and restart persistence. A separate temporary protocol client registered,
paired with the user, sent one encrypted message through the public HTTPS
relay, and verified its encrypted delivery receipt on 03 October 2026.
Both clients used this Windows computer; this is not independent network,
cross-computer, load, or cross-platform testing.

Native worker: 0.5.1. Node runtime: 24.21.0. Electron runtime: 44.5.1.
The accepted-socket Windows timing fix is included. Third-party runtime
licenses and native dependency notices accompany this download.

Known limitations: unsigned portable executable; no independent security
audit; no automatic app updates; fresh password login after eight hours;
no offline server mailbox; device loss/recovery does not restore messages;
first-contact trust needs optional fingerprint checking for stronger identity
assurance. MLS key updates/post-compromise recovery are not implemented.
The software does not guarantee anonymity or protection from a compromised OS.
